The College of Business and the individual departments in the College have endowed scholarships that are available to students meeting specific criteria. The total value of scholarships in the College is over $15,000.

The following two scholarships are available for business majors, but are offered through the Office of Financial Aid. Please complete the "University Scholarship Application" to be considered for the Colaianne and Owen Scholarships.

Colaianne Scholarship
     Criteria
          1.  New EMU Freshperson interested in Majoring in Business
          2.  Wayne Memorial High School Graduate
          3.  Minimum 3.0 High School G.P.A.
          4.  Financial Need

Gary M. Owen Scholarship
     Criteria
          1.  Student from a Disadvantaged Family
          2.  Preference Given to an Overachiever

  The following scholarships are currently available for students of the College of Business. These scholarships are given by the various departments. The following is a listing of scholarships that have been available to students in the past. Please watch the COB monitor for announcements of the availability and deadlines for all community related scholarships. Scholarship applications will be available in the Departmental Offices.


Accounting and Finance

          1.  Junior, Senior or Graduate Student
          2.  Finance/Banking major preferred, or any COB major
          3.  Minimum 3.0 G.P.A.

Great Teachers in Accounting Scholarship
     Criteria
          1.  Intent or Major in Accounting or Accounting Information Systems
          2.  Minimum 3.25 G.P.A.
          3.  Sophomore, Junior, Senior or 5th year Graduate Students
          4.  Active involvement in community service, student organizations,
               work experience
          5.  For 5th year students, undergraduate degree in Accounting from EMU
              
Tammy Machovec Endowment Fund
     Criteria
          1.  Interest in Government and Nonprofit Accounting
